Easton Summer - Library of Congress Control Number

I received my Library of Congress Control Number for Easton Summer today. I have a few friends from work reading the book for typos. As soon as the book is proofed, corrections made and another proof ordered, I should be able to push the button and actually publish Easton Summer!

Easton Summer - Watermelons

Jason, Eric and Kati spend time in the hay fort in the long, hot summer. One afternoon they happen to notice the watermelons in the field behind the ranch are being harvested. It was exciting to watch the melons being tossed in the air and caught and then tossed again. At any time there could be two or three melons in the air. The timing was amazing to see: Pick, swivel, toss, swivel, pick and toss again. The guys down the line caught, swiveled and tossed to swivel back again to catch. The synchronization was amazing to watch and kind of made you dizzy to think about.

Easton Summer - Honey and Cookie

I started writing Easton Summer three years ago. I had stories running through my head and decided to write them down. The result was Jason, Eric and Kati. I based the story in the near past, no cell phones or computers, in Easton, California, a rural community outside of Fresno, California. I love my animals and included "Honey" and "Cookie" in the story.

The paperback version of Easton Summer is soon be released via Amazon.com.

Easton Summer - Orchards

Jason, Eric and Kati roam through almond orchards on South West Avenue looking for clues in the hot Easton Summer. At one point they drag Shelley along and come across an interesting find.

Did you know that the orchards are mowed before the nuts are harvested? Just a thought.

Easton Summer - Second Proof

Easton Summer is in the proofing stage.  I've sent off for the second proof and should be ready to publish in the next two weeks.  Here's a little bit about the book:

Pre-teens Jason Bonham, Eric Lane and Kati McClellan, affectionately know as the angels, have know personal tragedy, Jason, recently orphaned, Eric abandoned by his mother, and Kati, left with strangers, are thrown together at the Sanders Ranch in Easton. While spending the summer together and guided by Shelley Sanders, the angels explore Easton and work together with their new friends to solve the mystery of the disappearing goats on South West Avenue and learn about friendship and love while making a home during the long, hot Easton Summer.

Easton Summer - Kati

Our last angel is Kati McClellan. Kati is a trim little girl, with long, straight, brown hair that hangs to her waist. Kati stands taller than Jason but not as tall as Eric. Kati came to stay at the Sanders Ranch when her father's job took him and her mother to Europe. Kati feels abandoned and spends her time taking her frustrates at being left behind out on those around her.

That's our terrible threesome known as the angels.

Easton Summer - Jason

Our second angel is Jason Bonham. 12 year old Jason is small, with black curly hair and large dark eyes rimmed with thick black lashes that makes his brown eyes seem almost black. Jason is so, so moody but has the most beautiful smile when he chooses to use it. Jason is the joker of the angels. Jason came to the Sanders Ranch looking for a place he could call home and love but Jason was doing his best to cause trouble.

Easton Summer - Let's Meet the Angels

Let's meet the angels. 13 year old Eric Lane is blond haired and blue eyed with a devilish gleam in those so bright, intelligent eyes. Eric loves animals and reading. He came to live at the Sanders Ranch when his grandmother became ill and couldn't take care of him. Eric felt abandoned and was quietly rebelling.

Easton Summer - Cherry Auction

Shelley accompanies the angels on many of their adventures. During their visit to Cherry Auction, Shelley happens to mention she collects figurines. I myself collect dog figurines.

I've sent off for my second proof of Easton Summer. I s...hould have it next week and then I will publish a paper version of the book. Easton Summer has been taken off sale for the moment. I will let you know when it can be purchased again on Amazon.com or through Kindle.See More
