Easton Holiday - Getting Ready for the Holidays
The Angels are helping Aunt Marian clean the kitchen before Thanksgiving. I remember my own mother's whirlwind cleaning before company came and I used that memory for Aunt Marian's cleaning frenzy.
I was feeling bad putting the Angels to so much work on their Saturday as I sat here looking at my own kitchen that needed a good cleaning. Yep. I just cleaned my kitchen top to bottom.
I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Easton Holiday - New characters
I have added three new characters to Easton Holiday. Their profiles are now on my website and are below for your review
.
DUSTIN AND RAY
MONROE, KELLI WOOD
Dustin Monroe, Ray Monroe and Kelli
Wood are new students at West Fresno Middle School. Dustin is a large boy, not
fat, but tall, wide shouldered and muscled. He has pale skin, blond, buzzed
hair and green eyes. Ray has the same coloring as Dustin, but isn’t quite as
tall as Dustin nor as tiny as Kelli. Ray and Kelli are the same age at 14 while
Dustin is almost two years older than them.
Kelli is Dustin and
Ray’s step-sister. She is a doll-like girl with a dark complexion and curly,
black hair hanging loosely around her shoulders; the polar opposite of her
step-brothers. Both she and Ray are clearly frightened by their older brother
Dustin.
While the angels assist
Kelli during a mishap in the school corridor, Dustin takes an instant dislike
to the angels. He spends quite a bit of time in detention directly related to
his actions against the angels. He is not content to leave the angels be.

Golden Grasses of California
The other day I was reading a news article regarding the drought in California. In the article it encouraged homeowners to let their lawns go "golden" to save water. This hit an accord in my mind as I remembered describing how California got its name the "Golden State" in Easton Summer. The name was derived from the golden grasses of California, not the gold rush of 1847.
As I drive down my street I notice almost all of the homes have "golden" lawns. There is, of course, the one or two stragglers that still have bright, green lawns. I feel for these homeowners. I worked hard to put my own lawn in eleven years ago when I bought my house. It hurt to let it "go golden." California needs the water more than I need a green lawn.
Today's photo shows the golden grasses of California around an irrigation canal. Most canals are now dry. I so enjoy the blues in this picture.
Give Easton Summer a read. Not only does it describe the antics of the "Easton Angels," California in general and particularly the Central Valley are described.

Easton Holiday Update
While Honey, Cookie and Freckles snuggle in for the winter with the angels in Easton Holiday my own sweet Patrick is decidedly frisky in the June Summer heat of the Central Valley.
Easton Holiday has been outlined and the first few chapters have been written. For a sneak preview of the angels' antics, I have added the "tentative" Table of Contents to my website at www.donnadolf.com. Take a look!

Easton Series Character Profile - Michelle "Shelley" Sanders
The character profile for Michelle "Shelley" Sanders has been added to my website at www.donnadolf.com. I hope you enjoy Shelley.
MICHELLE “SHELLEY” SANDERS
Michelle “Shelley” Sanders was a shy,
reserved young woman in her early 20’s. She had blue-green eyes and waist
length “dishwater blond hair” which she perpetually wore in a pony tail. She
was of average height and looked very much like her mother, Marian Sanders.
Shelley loved the Sanders Ranch
animals and had a special place in her heart for her precocious dogs, Honey and
Cookie. When not attending City College, she preferred to stay at home on the
Sanders Ranch and help her mother take care of the ranch and mentor her
mother’s “angels.” Although she was supposed to keep the angels out of
mischief, she was known to tag along on the angels’ adventures. Through those
adventures, Shelley befriended Deputy Jerry Blanca. Deputy Jerry seemed to hang
around the Sanders Ranch a lot on his time off and Shelley was secretly pleased
at his attention.

Have you read Easton Summer? Easton Harvest?
Please do me a favor and post a review. Both books can be found on Amazon.com. The 5 Star Review I quoted just a moment ago had a follow-up comment:
"As a follow up to my previous review....I finished reading Easton Summer and I really enjoyed the ending! The characters continue to develop throughout the book. Once again great job Donna can't wait to read the next one!"
Thank you for taking the time to post your comments. The "next one" as Jenyce mentions is, of course, Easton Harvest. Please give both books a try and let me know what you think.

5 Star Rating for Easton Summer!
"Beautifully Written! I am half way through reading this book and so far it is amazing! Beautifully written with a very descriptive and well developed plot. Perfect for all ages! Fresno is my hometown as well so I can strongly relate to all the classic landmarks mentioned. Everybody from Fresno grew up visiting the Cherry Auction and Millerton Lake! I will update this review as soon as I finish the book. Great job Donna!"

Easton Holiday
I finished the first three chapters of Easton Holiday and put it on the shelf. I needed to ponder where I was taking the Easton Angels. I have reworked my outline, made some decisions and I believe I am now back on track.
Our antagonist(s) in Easton Holiday will be Dustin, Kelli or Ray. The angels and the author will have their work cut out for them. I plan to thoroughly enjoy the journey!
Since winter in Fresno means fog, here's a foggy picture! Good night.
